Overnight, PSEG Long Island reported that nearly 2,000 customers were left without power in the region, with crews still working to repair 36 active outages affecting 350 customers. as of around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26.
The bulk of the outages were still being reported in Suffolk, with 282 customers still reporting outages, while there were 87 in Nassau and less than five in the Rockaway Peninsula.
In Suffolk, the bulk of the outages were reported in Riverhead (102), followed by Brookhaven (90), East Hampton (54), Southampton (27), and Southold (five).
Outages were also reported in Huntington and Islip.
In Nassau, outages were being reported in Hempstead (74), North Hempstead (10), and Oyster Bay (less than five).
A series of warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service for Long Island, including a flash flood watch, flood advisory, hazardous weather outlook, coastal flood advisory, and a wind advisory in parts of Suffolk.
